Dear PCRC Friend,
The Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center is proud to announce the selection of Jennifer Bullock for the role of Executive Director, effective June 1, 2008. Jennifer has been doing an outstanding job as Interim Executive Director since the beginning of 2008 and has shown effective leadership over her seven years at PCRC. Both the Board and Staff are confident in her ability to successfully lead PCRC in continuing to provide critical services to residents of San Mateo County.
Through her selection process, Board members agreed that Jennifer exemplifies the leadership that PCRC believes in: consensus building, joint problem-solving, individual and community empowerment and constructive management of differences. With the support of the Board of directors, a broad-based Advisory Council, a talented Staff and over 200 volunteers, the new Executive Director envisions an expansion of PCRC's core services: training people to communicate and solve problems together, facilitating group meetings, building skills for public participation and assisting people in conflict to develop mutually acceptable agreements. PCRC seeks to augment its benefits in San Mateo County.
During her tenure at PCRC, Jennifer has worked with city governments to design and facilitate public meetings, with businesses to provide training in communication skills for staff, and with dozens of groups to help them work through their disputes. She has a B.A. from Bryn Mawr College and an M.A. in Conflict Resolution from Antioch University. In addition to her work at PCRC, she is a leader on a broad array of professional groups.
An independent non-profit founded in 1986, PCRC is widely recognized as a cornerstone agency in San Mateo County and a model for similar programs across the West Coast. Recent program highlights include development and implementation of a comprehensive youth violence prevention program at Menlo-Atherton High School, training primarily Spanish-speaking parents from four schools in leadership skills as well as planning and facilitating students, parents and service providers tackling the issue of access to higher education for immigrant youth.
We thank you for your continued support and partnership. We encourage you to contact us with any questions or comments that you may have. You can reach Jennifer at (650) 513-0330 x. 302 or by email. Or, you can contact me directly at (650) 558-0000 or sek17@cornell.edu.
Sincerely,
Steve Kane Chair, PCRC Board of Directors
