Mercedes Rodriguez is the Director of Operations at the Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center. Prior to PCRC, Mercedes was the migration program manager for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) out of the Washington DC office. In that capacity, Mercedes developed and managed the ICRC’s migration program at the US southern border.
Mercedes joined the International Committee of the Red Cross in 2010 and served missions in Colombia, Palestine, and Afghanistan among other locations. Between 2010 and 2016, she held various positions involving the distribution of assistance to victims of conflicts, the visits to persons deprived of freedom, contacts and negotiations with national and international representatives as well as with military, and law enforcement. Before joining the ICRC, Mercedes worked for the World Organization against Torture and Peace Brigades International in Geneva, Madrid and Bogota.
Mercedes has a degree in sociology and and a master’s degree in international humanitarian law.
